ARMS (Automated Railyard Management System) Mobile has been specifically crafted to cater to the needs of switching crews operating on railroads throughout the United States. In its latest version 2.0, it introduces support for transload and intermodal shipping container workflows that enable seamless connectivity between rail, trucking, and port shipping partners.

The rail functionality of the system encompasses a wide array of operations such as transferring cars between tracks, loading, unloading, and delivering inventory. Users can efficiently manage inbound and outbound consists, as well as manually create interchanges to accommodate irregular or stranded inventory within the system. Switching crews can conveniently receive and fulfill switch requests, while railroad customers have the ability to access their inventory, submit switch requests, and track the progress - all through a secure login. Furthermore, users can effortlessly generate necessary paperwork by leveraging integration with their preferred documentation service.

With the transload functionality now expanded in version 2.5.0, users can seamlessly handle incoming rail cars or trucks by detailing their contents into distinct commodity units. Gate agents are equipped to check-in arriving trucks at facilities, capturing crucial information such as weights and arrival/departure times. The application also extends support for barcode/QR scanning using the phone camera, enabling customers to seamlessly integrate these codes into their workflows. Transloaders find it convenient to print picklists and trucking BOLs using the integrated paperwork service while being empowered to create trucking bills of ladings directly within the mobile app. Truck drivers benefit from a custom dispatch module that streamlines the acceptance of work orders.

Lastly, the intermodal functionality offers seamless integration with reach stackers, facilitating the easy tracking of container movements across piles and railcar chassis. Gate agents have the capability to log ingates and outgates for containers and establish intermodal units to maintain optimal facility inventory management.
